We ran off for an overnight at the lovely Glen Iris Inn in Letchworth State Park a few months ago. What a great place! The Inn itself is so quaint and I loved that there were no tv's in the rooms. There was one "common room" on the top floor where the one television was housed, along with board games and cards and books and such. It seemed like something straight out of a Miss Marple mystery if you ask me... Two old ladies playing Scrabble at a huge table, an old man with a Scottish accent sitting about three feet away from a large television set (who enlisted Roman's help changing the channels as soon as we walked in. Oh and there was the lone old woman sitting in an arm chair facing the window, off in her own world. DEFINITELY perfect murder mystery material. Well... maybe not
murder mystery... yes, yes. Just a mystery in general... (Way to scare myself out of going back there again! Haha!)
We also did some hiking. Sore does not express the state of our legs the next day. It was well worth it though! What a gorgeous place! (And I didn't see a single snake)
Pond outside of our room at the inn. Fish are great! (From a distance...)
Majestic stone picnic tables.
Wouldn't be complete without a few "Romashkas":)
What a view!
King of the Middle Falls! At night this spot was an absolute dream, So many lightening bugs. We were in awe!
a little "Illegal adventuring" into the riverbed. Don't worry. It was far from the waterfalls :)
I believe these were the "Upper Falls". Just awesome.
Running up all these stairs made the pain of it so much more bearable! I think...
This man loves a good train trestle.
He ventured off the beaten path...
Very happy with our organic hot dogs :)
